John's Dental Journey
Dr John Wells BDS graduated from Sydney University in 1985. He has studied extensively with world leaders in dentistry, human communication technology, sales and marketing. He is the author of the book, Enhanced Communication For Effective Case Presentation and has written numerous articles for the Australasian Dental Practice magazine.
Dr Wells has studied with the prestigious Las Vegas Institute (LVI) in the United States. Dr Wells graduated from LVI in 2005, becoming only the 7th Australian dentist to do so, joining an esteemed group of almost 400 LVI graduates worldwide at the time. He is continuing his studies with LVI, which offers the very latest in cutting edge dental techniques for very complex dental restorative cases. It is this area of dentistry, creating "Extreme" Smile Makeovers, whilst utilising the complex skills of Neuromuscular Dentistry that Dr Wells is most passionate about.
In his earlier days, Dr Wells had regular sessions at Nepan Hospital, performing oral surgery, a field in which he was quite gifted. After a car accident, he was forced to give up more physically demanding oral surgery which affected his ability to then perform fine cosmetic dentistry for a number of days following these hospital sessions. Many years later, Dr Wells had been able to return to complex, fine oral surgery and has now placed many hundreds of dental implants. Patients are always amazed at how simple and non-traumatic the procedure appears to be. Implant Dentistry is now a common procedure in our office.
At Simply Beautiful Smiles, we are proud to be able to offer the combination of complex diagnostic and treatment planning skills, together with Neuromuscular, Implant and Cosmetic Dentristy, with or without orthodontics, to essentially treat most of the very difficult smile and bite situations that can present within our own, state-of-the-art dental practice. We have a great support team of experts in their fields that we confer with on a regular basis, from the team of Orthodontists that we work closely with on all Invisalign cases, or our reps at Nobel Biocare (implant related dentistry), Dr John McHugh, Australia's only surgeon qualified in both Maxillofacial and Cosmetic surgery, to whom we refer very complex jaw surgery and wisdom tooth extractions (conveniently located on an adjacent block), to the wonderful world-class dental laboratory located right here in Penrith at Davis Advanced Dental Prosthetics Laboratory.
