We are proud
of the role that we play in helping you to optimise your oral health
and we enjoy helping you preserve your smile. The
highest compliment that we receive is the referral of family and
friends by a respected patient. We appreciate your expression
of confidence!
Of
course, your every day dental needs and requirements are catered
for too. From routine preventive dental procedures, including teeth
cleaning, periodontal gum care, children's
dentistry and fissure
sealants, tooth coloured fillings, root
canal treatment, sports mouthguards,
tooth whitening, minor
orthodontics and bonding,
to advanced cosmetic procedures, porcelain
laminate veneers, crowns
and bridgework, and complete "smile
lifts" and "smile makeovers",
our office provides a comprehensive array of treatment procedures
and options.
The
collaborative efforts of our highly experienced hygienist and treatment
co-ordinators are an integral part of the Simply Beautiful Smiles
preventive care philosophy.
Providing
many treatment procedures and advice to help you achieve and maintain
complete oral health, our hygienist, through root planning and scaling
will remove plaque and calculus (sometimes referred to as tartar),
from your tooth surface and below your gum-line, as this can lead
to gingivitis and gum disease. They can also advise you on the most
effective brushing and flossing techniques and provide other preventive
dental care treatments.
In
addition to cleaning, our hygienist will examine your teeth and
gums for the presence of diseases and other abnormalities such as
lesions that may indicate mouth cancer. They take dental x-rays
and apply cavity-preventive agents such as fluorides and pit and
fissure sealants. Our hygienist will often work simultaneously with
Dr Wells during many treatment procedures.
The
relationship between diet and oral health is an area where our hygienist
can provide expert advice on the importance of a well-balanced diet
and the effect a high sugar and starch diet will have on your oral
health.
Our
hygienist will tailor an oral care programme to suit your individual
needs and schedule appointments for cleaning, polishing and oral
health checks every three, six or twelve months depending on your
personal requirements. This will enable the hygienist to monitor
your oral health and detect any irregularities before they develop
and notify Dr Wells who can then recommend the most appropriate
treatment option.
