Sadly, at least two of our patients lost their homes in the recent Blue Mountains bushfires. Many of our patients have had to cancel treatment until things get back to some sort of normality for them. Quite a few patients have had to move temporarily from the area because of increased asthma attacks with the pollution from the fires.
One of our patients who lost both her home and her car in the same fire, is anxious to get started on her new smile. She dropped us a line to make sure that all was still ready for her to start next week! The human spirit never ceases to amaze.
We are helping our existing affected patients where we can. Please let us know if you require assistance.
Our thoughts and prayers are with our friends and colleagues that live and work in the Blue Mountains and towards Lithgow. We have had reports only of evacuations from our patients and colleagues at this point in time. All have been allowed to return home at some point. Many of our patients have understandably had to cancel appointments. We appreciate that they took the time out to consider us and let us know in advance of their situation.
God bless the firefighters and associated back-up volunteers who have worked tirelessly to protect homes, animals and businesses.
On 19th September 2013, Dr Wells is flying to Melbourne again to attend the Australian Society of Implant Dentistry Level III accreditation course. Dr Wells first did Levels I and II many years ago (early 1990s) and recently completed the courses again as a refresher, before finally attempting Level III.
