This fully tested technology enables the dentist to treat select cases (for example, scaling or root planing, probing, fillings, cosmetic dentistry) without injections. The unit, approximately the size of a "Walkman", allows the patient to control the amount of electrical current that flows through simple adhesive pads that are attached to the skin. This current disrupts the normal sensitivities of the teeth. Electrical anaesthesia eases many patients' anxieties before treatment, especially if they are afraid of needles. The patient is able to remain fully alert during the procedure. The anaesthesia is gone as soon as the unit is turned off, resulting in no numb lip or tongue!
