 It
is quite common for people to visit with us just prior to their
wedding day. Of course, they want to look their very best, and with
the ever present photographer there to capture every moment of their
big day, they know that their smile is all important!
Most will
initially come for a clean and will usually mention something about
their smile that they wish were different. They are very surprised
and pleased to hear that, yes, we can help! From a simple chipped
tooth, dull or discoloured teeth, or even missing teeth, there are
relatively easy, long-lasting and often inexpensive treatments at
hand.
At the other
end of the scale, our office also offers complete "Smile
Lifts" or "Smile Makeovers",
options often considered by the mother of the bride and sometimes
even the bride and/or groom.
 For
minor procedures, cosmetic
bonding is a wonderful treatment. We can literally coat the
teeth with special materials that allow us to smooth out rough surfaces,
change colours, correct chipped teeth, alter contours or close spaces.
The materials used for cosmetic bonding are stronger and last longer
than ever before.
Tooth
whitening is a procedure that brightens and whitens your teeth.
It is a simple procedure very commonly requested by patients prior
to special occasions such as formals, engagements and weddings,
even for the Spring season and Christmas/New Year partying. Many
people find whitening to be easy and convenient because most of
the treatment can be done at home. Naturally, we will closely monitor
the results and work with you all along the way for ideal results.
 As
whitening is not usually a permanent procedure, because of the many
coloured foods and drinks normally consumed, many of our patients
continue their whitening by purchasing "top-up" kits from
our office. In this way, our patients freshen their bleaching in
the privacy of their own home every year or so, using their original
custom made bleaching trays. These so-called "top-up"
kits are usually the same as the minimum strength used in our office,
far more powerful than any over the counter kits purchased in chemists
or supermarkets.
Patients
who have mis-shapen or broken teeth can take advantage of porcelain
laminate facings or veneers.
These ultra thin cosmetic facings made out of advanced porcelains
can literally change your smile in a week or so. This procedure
is relatively simple and comfortable and is much less invasive than
past techniques.
