Here is our January Smile of the Month.
This smile belongs to a 13 year old male with a history of a sports injury to his front tooth. Previous dentists had built-up the broken tooth on a number of occasions using bonding, but it would last just a few weeks each time.
The long term solution that the patient and his parent were happy with was a custom designed, ceramic/porcelain veneer, custom tinted and matched to the adjacent teeth. This solution can be adjusted and refined, as needed, as the child grows.
Ordinarily, this procedure is reserved until after most adult growth is completed, but is a useful cosmetic solution, and long lasting, in adolescents and young adults as well. Young people get embarrassed by their smile too and this can badly affect confidence.
Mum and son are happy and we are too with this result.
